Wolves Community Trust Ambassador Mat Murray paid a recent visit to The Deansley Centre at New Cross Hospital to hand over a cheque for £4,500 from Wolves Aid, part of Wolves Community Trust.
The money was donated to the Breast Cancer Support Group, who meet monthly to support those affected by breast cancer.
The money is being used for the refurbishment of the family room at the centre.
Jean Hancox, chairwoman of the support group said: “We are extremely grateful to Wolves Aid for this grant. It will make a great difference to the patients and will mean that their relatives can spend time in a comfortable environment when they come to visit them in hospital.”
Matt Murray said: “Wolves aid has a great history of supporting the local community of Wolverhampton and this latest donation is no different. Cancer is an illness which affects thousands of people every day and this money will go some way to making relatives of those suffering from cancer a little more comfortable when they visit the hospital.”
