With the Wolves Kickz project only delivering sessions since September 2010 this meant the deadline for nominations had already passed, however there was a fantastic Wolverhampton Wanderers presence with 4 of our current volunteers selected to help out on the day. Paramvir Singh, Claire Mildenhall, Ryan Baker and Lauran Baker carried out duties that included signing guests in, looking after all the clubs staff and young people, escorting the sports industry’s top guests to the VIP area as well as chaperoning stars such as Brooke Kinsella, Talay Riley, Ian Taylor and Joleon Lescott.
Kickz Regional Manager, Anthony Schiavo praised the Wolves Kickz volunteers on their fantastic work during the day: “The volunteers from the Wolves Kickz project were an exceptional group of young people, and were invaluable as far as helping the whole event the success that it was.”
In addition to this, Demi Yates was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award and was called on stage to receive her certificate from the Aston Villa legend Ian Taylor.
Demi has volunteered on the Wolves Kickz project since it began in September last year; she has given up over 100 hours of her time to help out on not only Kickz but also Wolves Community Trusts Disability Programme. She recently completed her FA Level 1 Football Coaching Certificate as well as a 12 week Princes Trust Team programme in which she excelled.
