Demi Gets Just Reward

A local youngster has been rewarded for all her hard work after helping a brand new initiative get local teenagers into positive activities every Friday and Saturday evening.

Demi Yates, 18 from Whitmore Reans became involved with Wolves Community Trust’s Kickz project when it was first introduced back in September. Since its introduction Demi has played an integral part in the success of the programme. Not only has she achieved her FA Level 1 Football Coaching Qualification, she has also contributed over 30 voluntary hours to Kickz, an achievement that has seen her awarded with a number of certificates from Birmingham County FA. She is now completing an NVQ in Sport with Kickz and is continuing to give up her time to help develop the Kickz project further and give local young people new opportunities.

Jennifer Mildenhall, Kickz and Community Engagement Officer said,’ We have all been very impressed with Demi’s enthusiasm and commitment. She has played an integral part in getting Kickz up and running and this obviously has a positive effect on the local community meaning more young people can follow in her footsteps and reach their full potential. We are really proud of what Demi has achieved in such a short space of time and believe that she will go from strength to strength as Kickz progresses.’

Demi is now looking to complete her FA Level 2 Football Coaching Qualification as well her FA Coaching Disabled Footballers Certificate which will enable her to gain employment in the sport industry as well as continue to have a positive effect on other young people.
