Wolverhampton Wanderers FC works alongside Wolverhampton City Council’s ‘Playing for Success’ programme to give young people the opportunity for additional learning activities in a vibrant, exciting and stimulating study centre.
The children have their own dedicated entrance to the state of the art classroom with two large computer pod desks, laptops, digital cameras and access to the stadium itself.
The classroom at Wolves will be equipped to offer digital music and media activities as well as the core provision of literacy and numeracy support. Pupils will be able to go out and about around the stadium designing match day programmes, Performing match commentaries and completing numerous tasks on the state of the art computer equipment.
While at Molineux, students can learn what it means to be the chairman of the club and find out how much it costs to run a club like Wolves. Students also have the opportunity to calculate gate receipts, average attendances at home games and measure the size of the playing area of a football pitch. They may also use their numeracy skills to calculate players’ diets/calorie intakes and even salaries.
